A video demonstration of this horn can be seen here.

This Holton Tuckwell horn (UPDATE: an individual has confirmed with me that this is an H104 based on the valve levers - thanks Tom G!) is a great player. I love the sound (very warm sounding!) and also how it looks. I have always loved the rose brass bells on nickel silver horns. They really look cool. This particular horn has had the bell de-lacquered, but the rest of the horn still has lacquer (which shows normal signs of wear).

This horn comes with two leadpipes - a BT4 and one simply stamped "Holton". Both leadpipes are in great shape. The original leather leadpipe case is included. I demonstrate how to interchange the leadpipes in the video. It is very easy to do!

The screw ring is also unique on this horn. I don't know of a better way to explain it than saying watch the video. It is cool and pretty effective and easy to use, too.

I got this horn from a professional player who clearly cared for it well. There are a few very minor dings on the horn, but nothing bad at all. There is no evidence of dent removal in the bell. All of the slides work perfectly. The valves have some compression (though it is not the best I've ever seen). They do not leak while playing (the horn really plays great!), but I'd say that within 10 years or so it would be good to start using heavier valve oil or get them rebuilt. I've reflected this in the price of the horn, and honestly if you had the valves rebuilt for $1500 in the near future, you'd still be getting a great price on a horn that is kind of hard to find these days. I do not have heavy valve oil in the valve, and still get a pop when pulling a slide and then pressing the valve, though I've certainly seen better. This is normal for well played Holton.

Included is a used but good Ortola screw bell case. I've never seen a case like it, but there is tons of storage yet it is still pretty compact. It holds the horn well, and also has space for the extra leadpipe, music, mouthpieces, and whatever other little stuff you want to have in your case. The backpack straps work great too. No mouthpiece is included.

I do like this horn. I think it will serve whoever buys it well. These horns are hard to find and from what I've seen are also pretty desirable. They definitely play several steps above the normal Holtons!
