A video demonstration of this horn is can be seen at this link.

This M series 8D is a fantastic instrument. It's sound is big, warm, and clear. It responds great, projects well, and sings in all registers easily. I could not find a single bad note on this horn! It truly is a beauty of an instrument, and it will not disappoint it's new owner.

When I purchased this horn, it was a completely totaled instrument. I sent it off to Chuck Ward for a full rebuild. He fully rebuilt the valves, installed a new Elkhart leadpipe, repaired repairable crooks and replaced unrepairable ones. And we special ordered a brand-new Conn V8D bell for this rebuild. The bell is very well made, and much more responsive than the normal 8D bell that is on the everyday 8D. The lacquer has been stripped as well. This horn is ready for a new life!

There are some remnants of the totaled nature of this horn left behind. There is a patch on the 1st valve slide (F side) from repairing the crook. Of course, this was professionally done and is simply visual. One other thing to note is that there is a patch on the leadpipe that is left over from a water key being removed. This was on the leadpipe when I purchased it, and I didn't realize it until I received the horn back from Mr. Ward. But thankfully the patch is very well done and will make it much easier to have a water key installed.
